Kids & Families

Let’s Laugh, Play, and Drum Together!

There’s nothing quite like seeing kids light up when they find their rhythm. In my Kids & Families Drumming Sessions, we play, explore, and create joyful music together in a space that’s full of movement, laughter, and connection.

I bring drums and percussion instruments from around the world, and we keep things fun, simple, and interactive—so even the littlest hands can join in. These sessions are all about building confidence, listening to one another, and sharing joy. You don’t need to be musical—just bring your curiosity and your willingness to play.

For groups that want to dive deeper, I also offer hands-on instrument crafting activities where kids can build their own egg shakers, maracas, scraper-tapper-shakers (3-in-1 percussion makers), and rainsticks. These activities are a great way to encourage creativity, make the experience even more personal, and give kids something they can take home and keep playing with.

Every program is tailored to fit your needs—from one-time 15-minute drum circles to multi-week class series, or even artist-in-residency programs. Whether you're looking for a quick burst of rhythm or an in-depth creative experience, we’ll find the right fit for your group.

What You’ll Experience

  • A playful environment for kids (and grown-ups!) to explore drumming

" I have had a fabulous time at your public drop in drum circles! I always drop into that more present space with a very aware and trance kind of experience. I always feel so synced up with the drummers and I feel your facilitating style really invokes that. Hope I can make it to many more! "

" Michelle's Drum Circle Connection was a fantastic addition to Corvallis Fall Festival! Michelle brings a great energy to the group and made it so easy for people of all ages and experience levels to jump in and play. The drum circle before the Saturday Night Street Dance was the perfect way to keep the audience engaged while the closing band set up. It was a joy to watch the community connect and make music together! "

" Michelle led a drum circle and percussion instrument build at my granddaughter's 9th birthday party. We all had a great time.  Everyone enjoyed themselves and I heard lots of “this is the best birthday party” from everyone that joined us. We had a chance to play the instruments we built and try out all the drums and percussion instruments as well. "
